The end of the University year sees a mass exodus of students from Selly Oak, leaving a large amount of rubbish in the streets. This is unattractive for the local residents who live in Selly Oak and can lead to vermin!
In order to help keep the streets as clean as possible, there will be a number of extra rubbish collections in Selly Oak, in addition to your normal collections.

Please remember to leave your extra rubbish out on the street and not in your front garden – the Council are not allowed to collect from your garden.
If you have any bulky waste in your house, such as a sofa or mattress which needs to be disposed of, the Council will do this for you free of charge. Telephone them on 0121 303 1112 or see www.birmingham.gov.uk/bulkywaste for more information.
