Community Wardens work out of the Guild of Students with the aim of providing timely advice and guidance to all members of the community on a range of issues including:

* Damp and unsafe housing
* Recycling
* Waste collections
* Pest control
* Landlord queries
* House hunting
* Deposit schemes
* Neighbourhood disputes
* Antisocial behaviour
* Safety and security
* Houses in Multiple Occupation Licensing
* Gas Safety

Wardens pro-actively patrol Selly Oak to help create a cleaner & safer Bournbrook area, working in partnership with West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service and Birmingham City Council to help create a cleaner, safer and more pleasant Bournbrook and Selly Oak.
