Capoeira is a martial art integrated with dance, ritual, and acrobatics. While it is fascinating to watch for the intricacy of movements and beauty of acrobatics, capoeira is also a world of music, rituals and respect accumulated through generations of insight and experience. Capsoc train twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) in a friendly and cultural atmosphere. There is something for everyone at Capoeira with music, dance, singing, acrobatics and history. Everyone is welcome to play capoeira!

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group supports students doing the Gold Award. Everyone is welcome –whether they’ve done previous levels of the Award or are complete newcomers. They will provide training and organise trips for the Expeditions section, as well as providing advice for the other sections. University is an ideal time to do the Award, as there are so many different activities that you can do, and it’s great fun as well as helping you to try new things and looking good on your CV!

The group operate a laid-back and friendly society designed for people who love horses and love to ride! They run both beginner and intermediate riding lessons every Wednesday, as well as hacks out into the countryside on Saturdays. All classes are taught by a professional teacher and Chinese grandmaster. Health and personal fitness aspects of the group's activities include: Qi Kung, conditioning & flexibility. Wu Style 108 step form, low form. Combat aspects include: Sparring, Push Hands, applications including arm/leg locks, receive hands, leading kick, pressure points, weapons and more.

Wayfarers run regular trips for anyone interested in hill-walking or hiking around the country, as well as a range of socials. They run weekend trips to places such as the Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia or Dartmoor. They also run daywalks on Sundays to areas such as the Berwyns, White Peaks, Malverns and the Shropshire Hills. They cater for everyone, from keen newcomers to hardcore hikers.
