In current recruitment we are concentrating on developing the Finance and/or Accounting, Marketing and HR experience of the Board members. However, above all we will be looking for passion about what the Guild does for its members in every candidate.
For the Trustee Board, the time commitment is 6 meetings a year (approximately 2 hours per meeting and approximately 2 hours paper reading time). The other committees (as independent members) of the board such as Finance, Audit & Risk and Remuneration & Human Resources meet up to 5 times a year, with the exception of Audit & Risk which meets 2/3 times a year.
Currently there are opportunities to become a Trustee or Independent person to be part of the Guild’s Audit & Risk Committee or Finance Committee.
The Guild of Students Trustee Board requires trustees and external specialists, and is still in need of:
• Lay trustee with a marketing/media background
• External specialist to sit on Finance Committee
• External specialist to sit on the Audit and Risk Committee
