► Info for Current Reps

Welcome to your time as a Student Rep at the University of Birmingham. We hope you will really enjoy the experience and be able to really benefit other students in your School.

If ever you have any questions or issues, please do email us at studentreps@guild.bham.ac.uk and we will do our best to help you out. Similarly, if you’ve done something you’re really proud of, let us know and we’ll include it in a newsletter or put it online to inspire others to do the same.

We expect all Reps to attend one training session. Please email studentreps@guild.bham.ac.uk with the session you wish to attend, or with any queries about the training. If you cannot make either of the sessions available in your College, then you are welcome to attend a session held within a different College. Alternatively, if there is a group of you who are unable to attend, we may be able to arrange an extra training session for you within your School or College – simply email the above address and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We are also hoping to arrange further Chair’s Training for Reps who have been asked to or are interested in chairing their SSC meetings – check back here for details later in the month.

Newsletter

Each month we send all Reps a Newsletter containing updates and news of the Reps Scheme, the Guild and the University. You can download the latest newsletter here.

If you did not receive this via email but would like to in the future, please email studentreps@guild.bham.ac.uk with your name, year and school.

Forums

The first Reps Forums of 08-09 will be coming up shortly. These provide a vital link between you and the Guild, and allow you to let us know the issues that are really affecting you and the students you represent so we can feed that information in at the College and University levels.

These will be held within the five Colleges before Christmas – watch this space and check your emails for more details nearer the time!
