Gold Awards 2012

This is the fourth year that we will celebrate students volunteering at the University of Birmingham, through Volunteering England’s Gold Award. The Gold Award is the only national student volunteering award that recognises Achievement, Dedication and Leadership within Further and Higher Education. The Guild of Students uses the Gold Award’s as a prestigious mark of excellence to celebrate and reward the outstanding achievements of student volunteers at The University of Birmingham.

Last year we received a record total of 23 nominations, and would like to see the number increase! Do you know someone who volunteers or a group of volunteers that have shown incredible Achievement, Dedication or Leadership through their time volunteering in the student or local community? Why not celebrate their achievements by nominating them for this National Award.

Being nominated for, or winning an award is great for the nominees CV and can really make them feel valued for all the hours that they have contributed when volunteering.

New for this year the volunteers will have the opportunity to nominate a ‘Volunteer Opportunity Provider’ to highlight the support and development they have received whilst volunteering, which can include departments, community organisations or student groups.

Nominations will open on the 20th February 2012 during Student Volunteering Week for a nomination form click here.
