Guild Officer Team Elections 2009 Essential Information

This year has seen more students get involved in our elections, with a record turnout in our NUS Delegate Elections and a record number of candidates putting themselves forward to be elected as a member of their RA Committee. From Monday March 9th to Friday March 13th we will be holding our biggest election of the year – the 2009 Guild Officer Elections.

The Guild Officer Group is made up of a mixture of full-time Sabbatical Officers and part-time Non-Sabbatical Officers. Together they provide democratic leadership to the Guild of Students and ensure that the Guild of Students is working on the issues that are most relevant to students. They also represent you and your views to the university, the local community and to the wider society, ensuring that the voice of Birmingham’s students will be heard at all levels.

An effective Guild Officer Team can help students achieve real victories on the issues that matter. This year’s Guild Officer Team have been campaigning to reduce hall fees, lobbying the university to provide free printer credits and encouraging more students to get involved with student groups. The best way to decide what the new Guild Officer Team will do for you and your university is to vote in this election, and ensure that candidates who share your priorities are elected.

Candidates have begun campaigning for you vote and you can vote online from your my.bham.ac.uk portal from 9am Monday 9th March to Friday 13th March at 12.00pm (Noon).
