How do I become a member of the Guild of Students?
When you join the University of Birmingham, you automatically become a member of the Guild. The student card issued to you by the University acts as your membership card for the Guild.


How many members are there of the Guild of Student?
There are currently around 28,000 members of the Guild of Students.


Who runs the Guild?
The Guild is run by its members. They give their views, opinions and ideas to a group of elected representatives, the Officer Team, who oversee the running of the Guild on the member’s behalf. For more information on the Officer Team, please visit our Officer Team pages.


Who funds the Guild?
The University of Birmingham Guild of Students is a self funding organisation, which receives a block grant from the University which goes towards Guild services and representation. Grants and project funding are also received throughout the year from the University. Money generated from the shops, bars, club nights and events is used to fund development, upkeep of the building and membership services.
