Who we are and what we do

Student Mentors are here to help you out with a range of issues and can visit you in your accommodation when you need a helping hand. Here’s some of the things we can help you with:

  • Settling into University life, homesickness, personal difficulties, and all other issues relating to your general Wellbeing.
  • Getting on with your new flatmates, flat disputes, and other shared living & accommodation related issues.
  • Exam stress, extenuating circumstances, the transition into independent learning and other issues in relation to you academic study.
  • Budgeting, finding part time work, sources of funding and other finance related issues.

The Welfare Office is located in The Hub at the Vale (next to the entrance of the Duck and Scholar). Feel free to drop in Monday – Friday 4-8pm (Term Time only), pop us an email or give us a phone call. We are here to listen and to help you resolve any issues, no matter how big or small.
