Green Impact

In recent years there ’s been a visible push towards companies and people becoming more environmentally aware and sustainable. There are now more people recycling, switching off lights and computers than ever before. Everybody has a part to play in the fight for a sustainable future. To find out what we’re doing in relation to these environmental issues, please read on.

What we’re doing

The Guild recognises that it has global responsibilities with regards to ethical and environmental issues, on a local, national and global scale and will encourage, and, where possible, support students to live in a way that is environmentally sustainable.

The Guild has made changes in order to be more environmentally friendly. Students and staff alike have been encouraged to switch off unnecessary lights, plug sockets, and recycle wherever possible.

To support the University’s Carbon Management implementation strategy and reduce the impact the Guild has on the environment we have also developed an action plan to reduce our carbon footprint.
