Are you an avid planner? Got a big or small idea? Like making money? Want to learn new and transferrable skills? Or do you just like using buzzwords and corporate language?
Some of you will remember that on my manifesto, I wanted to help students be more entrepreneurial and have more opportunities to develop the skills it takes to start or run a business.
I’ve been in contact with the B-Enterprise team and have heard about all the wonderful opportunities, big and small, that they have for students here at the University and with it being Global Entrepreneurship Week between 14th-20th November, I wanted to let you know how you could get involved and get enterprising!
On Monday 14th November you can join in with ‘Celebrating Entrepreneurship with PKF Cooper Parry’. This is for any student interested in entrepreneurship so looking at our current grad market, that’s all of you I’m sure! More info is here.
On Wednesday 16th November there is the Ambitious Entrepreneurs event with Matt Kepple. Matt is the founder of Makerble, an award-winning start up that accelerates social change and he is a Birmingham graduate too! More info here.
On Friday 18th November there is a drop in event where if you need help with a project, business idea or just want more information about the enterprising in general you can go along and the team will be more than happy to help you. Who knows what good stuff could come of it? (Next season of The Apprentice here Brum come!) More info here.
One of THE MOST EXCITING projects in my opinion is the B-Enterprise Screen Star which is your chance to run your own entrepreneurial project solving a real problem within the NHS. You’ll find out about a common problem faced in GP surgeries, find a solution and make a pitch in front of a panel of judges #pleasesaveourNHS . Entries are in and the pitching will take place on Thursday 17 November 2016 More info here.
Well, that’s all in a week’s work for the B-Enterprising team! For a list of general events that the team run, see here.
