Happy Term 2, everyone!
This is always the term that I feel starts off much tougher than it ends up because, once we get over the cold, dark mornings and evenings, things start to get a little bit warmer as spring arrives. We’ll get through it – honestly!
With exams in some subjects coming and as we all return to campus from some time at home where there are probably healthier cooked meals (with more vegetables in), central heating and less germs, I thought I’d remind you that it’s also the height of cold and flu season.
This blog is just a gentle reminder to get vaccinated if you’re eligible. Adults over 18 who are at particular risk of getting flu can get the vaccination for free from their GP or a pharmacy. You can see if you’re eligible here:
If you’re not eligible, you can still get it from pharmacies - you might just have to pay a small fee. (It’s £10 from Lloyds Pharmacy for example).
If you find that flu gets you down this winter and it does affect your studies, a) see your GP and B) come in and speak to Guild Advice who can offer support for dealing with the academic implications of illness.
Take care x
