Hi my name is Louis and I’m in first year studying Geography and I want to be your Ethical and Environmental Officer in 2016.
I believe in modern times few subjects have greater importance than our environment and our ethics. I think this is particularly true for students and therefore by association also Universities.
At Birmingham we have incredible scope to act on these values. We have the perfect mix of knowledgeable staff, spirited students and the second largest city in Britain which provide us with the opportunity to instigate the change we want to see in the world on a large scale. First and foremost this Guild should act for its 30,000 students but I also think there is potential for it to bring betterment to the 1 million people on our doorstep. I really believe the Guild has the ability to improve this city and I am standing because I want to see it happen.
I know that I am only a first year and therefore lack experience but I am passionate about making positive change happen and promise that if elected I will work hard and try my best to improve the future of Birmingham.
