Action execution when needed is much more significant than action execution when desired. It has been my passion to contribute to the welfare of students in our University, I hope it can boost the energy to experience the different student like, especially for the postgraduate students. As a Postgraduate candidate for this years’ election, I would like to bring to the notice of my fellow university mates at Birmingham that I abide by the motto ‘let work and play’, believe in serving the best interests of all the students. A Postgraduate Officer representing the postgraduate students at the university and being a voice to their concerns should be easily accessible and prioritise issues addressed by students in a timely manner.
Most of postgraduate students expected to enlighten their life beside the learning process. Most of Master students are only have 1 year to experience the UK life, and others are almost put all their effort on the research for the school development. It is my turn to have regular interaction with students and by putting my best foot forward in answering student queries, grievances and complaints efficiency hold key as a Postgraduate Officer candidate.
Students often face problems with respect to their timetables and career issues which need to be dealt with swiftly, efficiently and effectively. Thus, I would make sure that best possible student welfare is enable by career opportunities and suitable academic timetables, putting forth the students’ voice to the faculty and other subsequently higher authorities.
As there are lot of activities for undergraduate within the student union, it becomes a tedious task for postgraduate students to receive the relevant information beside the study. I would like to fix this issue by ensuring excellent selection and communication within the core working department of the Student Union will promote suitable activities to postgraduate students and assist the postgraduate research participation.
The University of Birmingham is on of the most noteworthy culturally diverse institution with students from all over the world who have their distinct and special identities.Being actively experience the student life in China, Singapore and Birmingham, I am intrigued and interested by people from different backgrounds and try my best to make the life in Birmingham University be the most memorable one. Therefore, I am expecting to our postgraduate intranet to connect and promote better social and cultural harmony amongst students to experience it and get involved.
