GMTG are delighted to invite you to audition for our Winter Showcase, 'Seasons of Love'! A showcase of musical theatre songs celebrating the many 'seasons' of love, from friendship, to family, to pure romance and to just learning to love yourself!
Please read the following information carefully.
SINGING AUDITIONS
12th & 13th October
5-10pm, Tolkien Room
Please note that auditions are drop in, there is no need to book a slot, simply arrive at the room between the times above. If you are unsure about where the room is, just ask at the guild of students reception and they will let you know where it is!
For the audition, please prepare a musical theatre song which you believe expresses the theme of "love" (be it romantic, friendship, family etc) and which best shows off your singing and acting ability. We will have a pianist to accompany you so bring along the sheet music to the audition or alternatively bring a backing track if you'd prefer. Let us know if you want to sing something which you don't have the sheet music for and we will do our best to sort it for you!
Additionally, we are very excited to announce that for this showcase we want to utilise the skills of actor-musicians. If you can play any kind of instrument, be prepared to tell us about your skills in the audition and feel free to incorporate your instrument into your audition song, but this is not compulsory!
We want to stress however that the use of musicians will only be for a select few songs in the showcase therefore this is not a requirement of all cast members and your chances of being cast will not be at all affected if you cannot play an instrument. Our priority will be people who can perform and portray character through song.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please ensure that you are free on the below dates. Rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday daytimes.
Dress and tech - 2nd December
Show dates - 4th, 5th and 6th December
