You’ve found it! This is the best job in the world...

If working in the outdoors is the adventure you’ve been dreaming of, welcome to PGL! Our Activity Instructor / Group Leaders are the all-action superheroes to our young guests, the pillars of trust for our party leaders and parents, and the face of PGL. You’ll be leading activities, organising entertainment, and making sure your group has a great stay with us. Being an Activity Instructor / Group Leader is a fantastic chance to share your love of sports and the outdoors, to discover new things to love, to make new friends, to learn new skills, and to enjoy a lifestyle and an experience which will enrich your life forever.

What sets apart our Activity Instructor / Group Leaders is their enthusiasm, their willingness to learn and their energy. You might be helping kids overcome their fears in the morning, guiding them to solve initiative puzzles in the afternoon, and then singing to them around the camp fire in the evening. It is a million miles away from the suited and booted 9 to 5. It’s exciting. It’s life changing. It’s fun. However, it’s also challenging, it’s a position of responsibility, it’s sometimes tiring, and it can be hectic. But the reason that the Activity Instructor / Group Leader role is the most popular with PGL – it’s worth it!

Welcome adventure into your life in 2019 with a job in the outdoors!

PGL’s staff are central to our success and play a huge part to making our activity centres vibrant, fun and supportive environments for our guests to have an experience of a lifetime.

Working as a PGL Activity Instructor is a unique working experience. We aim to provide an environment that not only allows our guests to have a great time and develop but also our staff.

As an Activity Instructor, you will lead our groups in a number of exciting activity sessions throughout the day from archery to zip wire and everything in between. You’ll also be on hand to ensure our guests have a great time even when they are not participating in activities and energy levels are maintained… not an easy task but get it right and it is extremely rewarding.

Our Activity Instructor role is ideal for anyone who enjoys being active in the outdoors, has a passion for sport and is able to provide effective instruction, leadership, support and encouragement to a group of guests. This is the perfect job for anyone looking to work with children in the future, start a career in the outdoors or just have a great working experience whilst making new friends and working as a team.

Individually you will be confident, engaging and have experience of working/volunteering with children. This could be working with your local Scout/ Guide group, coaching a local sports team or volunteering with various other kid’s clubs or groups. If you can show this, along with the enthusiasm, in your application then you will be well on the way to an exciting new job.

As for the rest? We will take care of providing you with the training and support you need to be confident and successful in your role. Whilst working with PGL you will be offered many other training opportunities and gain a wide range of transferable skills that will look great on your CV when you do decide to move on, although a lot of our activity Instructors stay with us for many years.

We offer a competitive wage, paid monthly, meals and on-site accommodation provided and FREE staff uniform.
