Cancer Research UK’s is offering a fantastic opportunity for you to play an integral role in the successful delivery of some of the country’s leading events. Our seasonal events run from May to September and generate substantial and sustained income for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving, world class research. Our wonderful events staff work hard to promote our events, deliver them seamlessly and sell our merchandise. You will be involved in major events such Race For Life – which for the first year is now not just open to women, but to everyone!

Cancer Research UK’s event team is split into 9 regional teams across the UK and in 2019 each team will have a dedicated team of Promotional Assistants, Event Assistants, and Event Merchandise Team Leaders. There will also be opportunities to work at our other events such as, Shine and with our Sports team who work with the likes of London Marathon and Manchester Marathon. You will gain first-class experience of the country’s leading events, join a dedicated and social team, and together we will beat cancer sooner!

We have 3 opportunities available for our Events season…

Events Assistant:

  • Supporting our events team to develop and deliver inspiring events
  • Taking responsibility for key areas of the event delivery including; course and site management, event administration and volunteer management
  • Managing some operational responsibilities including setting up and dismantling the course and site equipment

Promotional Assistant:

  • Delivering high quality, creative, on brand promotional activity for our Race for Life events with passion and enthusiasm in high footfall locations.
  • Delivering passionate and motivating face to face engagement to our Race for Life target audience to drive acquisition and preference to our events.
  • Delivering briefs to our volunteers and work alongside them to upscale our promotional events.
  • Being responsible for the set up and de-rig of promotional events equipment and branding.

Event Merchandise Team Leader:

  • Managing our Merchandise Activity across an identified number of events
  • Managing the collections and returns of all kit and stock
  • Managing all operational responsibilities
  • Managing stock levels financial reconciliation
Stewarding Birmingham City Centre, Nationwide, Off campus, Wider Birmingham Area Part-time or Casual Daytime, Weekdays, Weekends
