Details

Discovery Summer is recruiting short-term administrators to work on residential courses for international students aged 8-17. Contracts last for 4.5 – 5.5 weeks between 25 June -12 August.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as a member of the senior management team. You’ll provide a warm welcome to students, staff and visitors and ensure the course administration runs smoothly and efficiently. In conjunction with the House Parents, you will help ensure the welfare of all course participants.

We are seeking motivated applicants who have worked with children/teens previously and have proven administrative, organisational and numerical skills gained from formal employment or through a voluntary role.

There is only one administrator at each summer centre so applicants need to be resourceful and be able to take initiative, often dealing with a wide range of situations in a fast-paced environment. The positions are residential and staff work 6 days a week so we need staff who are keen to work hard. In addition, a degree of flexibility is required as no two days are the same.
Many of our staff find their experience with Discovery Summer is useful when applying for graduate roles. The opportunity to work in an international environment and to develop new skills while receiving training is invaluable.

Discovery Summer is committed to ensuring the safeguarding of our students and we expect our staff to share this commitment. To this end, all references will be followed up, gaps in CVs must be explained satisfactorily and appropriate suitability checks will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.
