Traveling in Birmingham

The University of Birmingham is in a prime location – there are regular train and multiple bus services connecting you to the city centre and other parts of Birmingham. When applying for a job, make sure you check the location as a lot of places in Birmingham are close together. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with the city - this page will help you find your way around Birmingham.

Birmingham City Centre is less than 10 minutes away by train. Bus and train timetables are available online on the following websites:

The University is closely located to Edgbaston, Harborne, Selly Oak and Northfield. Selly Oak, Bournville and Harborne are all within walking distance.
Always remember to search for directions from your accommodation and not the University. Our campus is very big, so you have to be specific when searching for directions! Also feel free to contact employers to double check their location if you are not sure.
