Useful information

Part-time work develops your employability skills enhancing your CV ready for the competitive world of the graduate job market. What’s more you can also include part-time work on your enhanced transcript to add even more value to your degree certificate.

We work closely with the University ensure there are a number of ways to develop your employability on campus:

The University's Careers Network can help with your search for work experience, placements, internships and graduate jobs, while Worklink is the University of Birmingham’s internal recruitment agency - they will connect you to on-campus paid work opportunities. The Guild’s Volunteering Department can help you to build skills through volunteering groups, or find volunteering opportunities in the local community while our Student Groups Department can help you with joining a group or society.

If you need any advice about applying for a particular job, or finding work, pop in to the Jobs, Skills and Volunteering Office, next to reception on the ground floor. We’re open 10am-4pm in term time and 12pm-3pm during vacations.

If you have any concerns about a vacancy, or need advice related to working, then please contact us: jobs@guild.bham.ac.uk or 0121 415 8960.
