The Guild of Students is shocked and saddened by last night’s horrific attack in Manchester. We offer our support and solidarity to all those affected, both in the city and across the world. We are left heartbroken by yesterday’s events and our thoughts are with the people of Manchester who have lost loved ones.
The strength of Manchester’s community is evident in the coming together of its people – emergency services, taxi drivers, hotel staff and people on the streets – who offered their unquestioning support in the midst of horror. We, too, stand together against all forms of terrorism and ask all students to join with us in offering their support to all affected in our community and beyond, as we work towards a world of peace and reconciliation.
This evening, at 5pm, we will meet in Mermaid Square to express support and solidarity for all those affected. We encourage all students to join us for this moment of remembrance.
