Formal Timeline:
The overall timeline for the elections is as follows:
- Nominations: Monday 20th January 2025 (10am) – Friday 14th February 2025 (4pm)
- Voting: Monday 10th March 2025 (10am) – Friday 14th March 2025 (4pm)
The timeline for Officer Elections 2025 will be communicated through our online webpages from Monday 13th January.
Additional Dates:
Between Monday 17th February and Friday 7th March 2025, candidates will be provided training and ongoing development in preparation for the Elections and results will look to be provided on Saturday 15th March 2025, subject to normal approval
Applications Process:
All nominations will be submitted electronically through the Guild Website between Monday 20th January (10am) and Friday 14th February, (4pm).
Candidates can request support in submitting their nominations via the Student Voice Team.
Regulations and Rules Governing the Election:
Election Regulations govern Guild cross-campus elections and ensure they are free and fair at the Guild of Students. This is through the current Guild Bye-Law 8 in conjunction with our Guild Election Regulations. In addition to the Regulations and Byelaw 8 all other Guild of Students governing documents, University Legislation, and all Laws of the Land (England) shall apply.
As outlined the Election Regulations, in addition to the Regulations, all other Guild of Students governing documents and policies, University Legislation, and all Laws of the Land (England) shall apply.
As per the current Bye-Law 8 within the current Guild of Students’ Bye-Laws, all applicants and voters must be Full Members of the Guild of Students to nominate themselves and vote. As outlined within our Election Regulations Full Members may only stand in elections for liberation positions, who self-define as belonging to that liberation group.
