Officer Elections: Make one change to improve student groups...

Guild News Icon Guild News Icon

We asked your candidates for Activities and Employability Officer what they would change to improve student groups. Here's what they said:

Amy Hodgkiss ‘Eighties Amy’

Improve training across the board! The staff in student groups are stressed and committees are frustrated! I would improve the current chair training day, introduce a treasurer training session and continue to provide more workshops based on issues societies may face! Throughout changes in student groups, I would make sure that student staff are consulted and receive up to date training!

I am going to support all committees, members and students and make sure student groups are inclusive for everyone. Student Groups forms will be online in one place and I will work to introduce an online submission system. It is vital committees know the support available for them through Guild Advice and Student Groups during tough times. This awareness of support is so important rather than introducing more forms and procedures for committees, piling on the pressure.

Student Groups NEED to be including international and postgraduate students in events which are tailored to them. I will make sure this happens.

Now you know what they stand for, here's what you can do: vote for the change you want to see on campus!

Voting closes 4pm on Friday 1st March.
