We asked your candidates for Sports Officer if sport at Birmingham is working out... Here's what they said:
Josh Dooler (JD Sports)
Sport is a key part of university life and everyone should have the opportunity to thrive off the exceptional facilities and success of UoB. I want to increase participation in sport and improve publicity for EVERY sport. One thing which I promise is to improve the welfare provision offered within sports teams as the current system is simply not good enough!

‘Simon Says’ Price
In some areas it is, in other areas there is a lot that needs to be done. Programmes such as Try a Sport and Campus league have been fantastic this year and it is great that there is currently a movement towards supporting members mental wellbeing. We are also treated with such fantastic facilities, however, commercial gain versus prioritisation of students can often be questioned. What is important for the upcoming year is that the sports officer is there to fight those battles to ensure students are always the first focus!
