The Guild of Students listens to your voice. We take your concerns seriously and we take them right to the top of the University. That’s why, this year, the University has given us an extra £55,000 to invest in campaigns and services that students care about the most.
Two of the most important things that students have argued for are: an expansion of the Not On Campaign – to end sexual harassment and assault on this campus – and your campus shuttle bus, the Selly Express.
We’re incredibly pleased to announce that the Not On campaign will receive additional funding to help our student campaign ambassadors spread their message across the University campus and continue fighting to eradicate sexual harassment and assault at Birmingham.
We’re also pleased to let you know that the Selly Express service will keep on rolling next year, providing students with a safe journey home and supporting those who chose to study later at night on campus.
We want to thank all the students who have made their voices loud and clear on these issues. It’s the Officer’s job to amplify the collective voice of the study body but if it wasn’t for students demonstrating, through their passion and commitment, that they want real and material change then we wouldn’t be here today. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this possible and helped to make their University better, and safer, for everyone.
Reece Roberts, Guild President.
