Let’s come together to celebrate culture here at Birmingham!

We’re excited to introduce the One World Festival - a brand new celebration coming to the Guild between Monday 18th – Friday 22nd March 2019!

What’s this all about?

Birmingham is home to many students from different cultural backgrounds, which is something to be celebrated, and that is what this week is all about! So, this is the perfect opportunity for all students to get involved in our events and come together to recognise our global community here at Birmingham.

The Festival is for ALL students to enjoy, whether you’re international or home-based, an Undergrad, Masters or PHD student - so be sure to get involved!

Digital Photography Exhibition | Monday 18th – Friday 22nd March

All this week we’ll be hosting an online photography exhibition led by YOU.

The theme is: ‘Celebrations of Culture’, and all you have to do to get involved is take a picture which represents you and your culture, provide a short description and share it with us!

You can share it with us on social media using #OneWorldUOB or you can email it to:

Plus we’ll be randomly sharing your submitted photos and digitally displaying some in Guild reception! So make sure you enter your photograph to join the celebration.

‘Around the World’ Quiz Night | Thursday 21st March

Think you know your flags and countries? Head to our fun and friendly Quiz Night from 7pm in Mermaid Bar to test your knowledge and be in with the chance of winning some great prizes!

One World Fair | Friday 22nd March

Join us between 11am-3pm in Deb Hall for an all-out cultural celebration! There’ll be stalls from lots of Student Groups for you to try different foods, have a go at some crafts and learn about different cultures.
