We’re excited to announce the return of our One World Festival! That’s right, next week we’re coming together for an all-out celebration of culture.
What’s this all about?
Birmingham is home to many students from different cultural backgrounds, which is something to be celebrated and that is what this week is all about!
We’re hosting a number of events and activities for ALL students to enjoy. So, whether you’re an Undergrad or a Postgraduate, a home student or part of our global student community – be sure to get involved!
Digital Photography Exhibition
Monday 9th – Friday 13th March
All this week we’ll be hosting an online photography exhibition led by YOU.
The theme is: ‘Celebrations of Culture’. All you have to do to get involved is take a picture which represents you and your culture, provide a short description and share it with us!
You can share it with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #OneWorldUOB or you can email it to: international@guild.bham.ac.uk
Plus we’ll be randomly sharing your submitted photos, digitally displaying some in Guild reception and also on the Guild website! So make sure you enter your photograph to join the celebration.
Need some inspiration? Here's Jo's cultural pictures:
This is me when I visited a Korean palace called Kyungbok-goong and dressed up in a Hanbok. The vibrant colours and the wide silhouette of this traditional Korean dress is my favourite part of the Hanbok!
There are many Buddhist temples in Korea, because Buddhism had a great influence in previous dynasties. People tend to go to those temples to wish their family and friends good luck, by writing their names on the tags attached to the lanterns.
