Work while you study

Getting involved in part-time work will help you to:

  • Top up your bank balance
  • Make new friends
  • Grow your confidence
  • Have fun
  • Build references to use for graduate work
  • Be more strict on your time and use it more efficiently
  • Grow transferable skills for graduate work

Many employers will be looking for students that can exhibit a number of work place skills, all of which can be attained through involvement in part-time work. We advertise lots of different opportunities in a variety of work sectors, so you’ll have the opportunity to develop a unique set of skills – all while earning some extra cash!

So that you are able to balance your academic work, social time and job the Guild recommends that full-time students do not work more than 16 hours per week during term-time.
