The Book Club meets twice monthly to discuss some great books and then again to watch the film adaption of them. We're a very friendly, relaxed society that allows our members to meet new people, talk about some great books and eat lots of biscuits. So even if you aren't able to finish the texts you should still come along to the meetings and say hi (as long as you don't mind spoilers!).
This year we are reading:
‘The Virgin Suicides’ by Jeffrey Eugenides, ‘The Bell Jar’ by Sylvia Plath, ‘The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak, ‘The Kite Runner' by Khaled Houseini, ‘The Sellout’ by Paul Beatty, ‘Lolita' byVladmir Nabokov, ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin' by Lionel Shriver and a book that will be chosen by you. Happy reading!
We will post dates of meetings on here, through email, on Facebook and on Twitter.
If you have any questions about our meetings or the society just send us an email on the address below or send us a message on our facebook wall.
To ensure that you get what you need from us, when you need it, we have created a set of promises which we will always aim to deliver.
Every year, a team of Officers are elected by YOU to help you get the best out of Birmingham. Each officer leads a different part of the Union on your behalf – click on their faces below to find out what they do and how to get in touch…
