The Book Club meets twice monthly to discuss some great books and then again to watch the film adaption of them. We're a very friendly, relaxed society that allows our members to meet new people, talk about some great books and eat lots of biscuits. So even if you aren't able to finish the texts you should still come along to the meetings and say hi (as long as you don't mind spoilers!).
This year we are reading: ‘Fahrenheit 451’ by Ray Bradbury, ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley, ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest’ by Ken Kesey, ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, ‘Catch 22’ by Joseph Heller, ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ by D. H. Lawrence, ‘The Hundred-Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared’ by Jonas Jonasson and a book that will be chosen by you. Happy reading!
We will post dates of meetings on here, through email, on Facebook and on Twitter.
If you have any questions about our meetings or the society just send us an email on the address below or send us a message on our facebook wall.
To ensure that you get what you need from us, when you need it, we have created a set of promises which we will always aim to deliver.
Every year, you elect fellow students to your Officer Team, who represent you and lead your union. Each Officer has their own roles and remit which you can view below. You have a chance to make sure your elected Officers are doing what they said they will, by attending Officer Question Time held each term.
