Capoeira

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art combining elements of acrobatics, dance, music, flexibility, fighting, and creativity. We organise classes, socials, workshops, and trip opportunities. Our society is affiliated with CDOB Brazilian Cultural Centre. Complete beginners as well as more advanced capoeiristas are welcome to Join our Society! Check our page on Facebook!

END OF (ACADEMIC) YEAR CELEBRATION / BATIZADO

Our members can attend a graduation ceremony, "batizado", at the end of the academic year (around May or June) in a location to be determined (in 2017 it was held at the new University of Birmingham Sport Centre). During this celebration, members play with Capoeira Masters and receive a belt to celebrate their efforts and achievements. The graduation ceremony is part of a 2-4 day workshop organized by the CDOB Brazilian Cultural Centre. This event brings together Capoeiristas from all over the world to attend special classes from renowned teachers travelling to Birmingham just for this occasion.

Prices will be agreed with CDOB Brazilian Cultural Centre, hosting the event.
