The Selly Oak Play Scheme runs play sessions for children aged between 3-11 years every Sunday during term time between 11-1pm. We normally host the play sessions at the Underground at University’s Guild of Students. The play sessions vary for week to week but they can often include a wide range of crafts and arts, cupcake decorating and games! We are thinking about possibly organising some trips for the children during the year, which could include places like Birmingham Sea Life Centre and/or Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. As a volunteer, you’d really be able to put something back into the community by helping parents and careers whilst also helping to benefit children’s development and learning! The maximum commitment is two hours per week, however you do not have to commit to coming every week which makes this volunteering opportunity particularly great!
