Hi, My name is Kiki and I want to be your Disabled Students’ Officer. I am a responsible, competent and caring person. I self-define in this group as I receive assistance from the DSA, my own issues have made me a very empathetic person and led me to want to dedicate my life to helping people. I believe having any sort of disability can be extremely detrimental and difficult and it would mean the world to me to be able to help people cope with this.
In my post I want to do as much as possible to decrease the stigma around any sort of disability and make people feel less isolated. In no way does a disability make you less able to cope with all of life’s hurdles and I want to ensure people are aware of this. I am currently an RA this year and therefore have experience in working at The Guild. I want to be the voice of all of us regardless of the disability so you can receive the most out of your university experience and I truly believe I can do this efficiently, confidently and eloquently and to the standard that you all deserve.
