Hi my name is Alexandra Binnie, and I’m rerunning for the role of Women’s Officer. My time as an Officer this year has inspired me to undertake the role again, and with the experience I’ve gained I’ll be able to achieve even more over the next twelve months! My main manifesto points are:
- To continue work on the “It’s Not On” campaign to tackle sexual harassment on our campus, targeting the issue within sport by running focused workshops and getting sports teams to sign the pledge.
- To work with the new Postgraduate Officer and the Part-time and Mature student’s Officer to help represent postgrad and mature women at the University, and to explore the possibility of getting a crèche set up on campus.
- To organise regular women’s club nights at the Guild for women and non-binary students.
- To support Women’s Association, and work with them to increase engagement with the wider student population.
I’m committed to making the experience for women and non-binary people here at this University an enjoyable and safe one. I hope that you can vote for me and allow me the opportunity to do this wonderful job for another year.
