We're the University of Birmingham Doctor Who Society, or DocSoc for short.
DocSoc is a society where you can express your love for all things Doctor Who (both classic and new) as well as its various spin-off shows including Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. Additionally, we are aiming to involve content from the Doctor Who Extended Universe - so if you're more of a comics-person or bookworm, never fear for there is a place for all levels of Doctor Who Fans in our society!
We run events every Tuesday evening (during term time), ranging from watching episodes of both the new and classic series, arts & craft sessions, quizzes, pizza nights, pub nights, bowling and more. We occasionaly run events with the other nerdy societies, as well as interesting collaborations with other societies like RockSoc and PhilSoc - over the past two years (2020-21 and 2021-22) we collaborated with many other societies and arranged the intersociety quiz, which will hopefully be running again this year!
In previous years, we ran a trip to Cardiff (previously to the Doctor Who Experience) visiting filming locations the show has used over the last 10+ years.
In June 2022, we helped to organise a Doctor Who Convention for university Doctor Who societies across the UK!
Every kind of member is welcome in DocSoc, from those who've only seen a few episodes, to those who've seen every episode that still exists. New members can join at any time and we welcome any event suggestions all throughout the year!

For anyone interested in joining, we will have a stall at the Fresher's fair on Wednesday the 20th of September 2023, so if you're interested, come on down and have a chat with our committee members! We'd love to meet you all!
