“A student’s academic progress intrinsically depends on their physical and mental wellbeing. I want to ensure that student welfare is a central concern for all at the University of Birmingham,
especially at ‘Welfare Tutor’ level. In addition, I want to make sure that you’re aware of all the welfare services available to you from the onset at both the University and the Guild, so that you know where and how to access support in every aspect of University life.”

Here is a summary of some of my achievements this year…

My biggest manifesto achievements so far have definitely been healthy food on campus and SHAG week!

The VPS and I worked very hard over the summer and term one to get calorific information on the Joes menu as well as all of the GO products over at the university. Hopefully now students can make an informed choice about what they put in their bodies.

SHAG week was a huge win for me, it took a great deal of planning and whole load of energy but for the first time in 3 years SHAG week was back in the Guild. We reached over 4000 students with booklets informing students about the most common STIs and contraceptives, as well as getting nearly 100 students tested for chlamydia.

I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff, students and sabbs who helped me to make these things happen!"
