There are a lot of unofficial events throughout Welcome that are not controlled by the Guild! But how can you tell?

Official vs Unofficial

How can I tell which events are official? Simple, just look out for our ‘Official Event’ stamp, included on all Guild Welcome Events, so you can buy with confidence.

  • Organised by your Guild with in-venue support
  • Tailored for UoB students so you can make friends
  • Hosted at approved venues
  • All money invested back into your Guild to shape future activity

Unofficial Events

  • Will not have the official stamp in the event graphic
  • Not organised by the Guild
  • Less information available about the events i.e. venue location
  • Not specific to UoB students (often see students from lots of different Birmingham Universities)
