Junkbusters - Guild of Students

Junkbusters

What is Junkbusters?

Junkbusters is a joint project between the Guild of Students and the University. Every year, we go out into Selly Oak and collect your unwanted clothes, books and household items to raise money for the British Heart Foundation - since 2011, we have raised over £135,000!

Our next collections are taking place on the dates below to help you to have a clear out before you leave your student accommodation:

  • Friday 2nd June – 12:30PM-3:30PM
  • Friday 9th June – 12:30PM-3:30PM
  • Friday 16th June – 12:30PM-3:30PM
  • Friday 23rd June – 12:30PM-3:30PM
  • Friday 30th June – 12:30PM-3:30PM

Locations:

  • Bournbrook Pavilion, outside Starbucks (Aston Webb Blvd, B15 2GG)
  • Corner of Raddlebarn Rd and Bournbrook Rd (B29 7DB)
  • Corner of Dartmouth Rd and Heeley Rd (B29 6DR)
  • Corner of Dawlish Rd and Exeter Rd (B29 6EU

So, if you have unwanted items, please do drop them off so they can go to a new home and we can work together to reduce waste.

All you need to do is fill up a bin bag with good quality, unwanted items and bring it to one of our stalls.

What can we collect?

The British Heart Foundation can accept all items except the following:

  • Duvets
  • Pillows
  • Broken or dirty items
  • Knives
  • Hangers
  • Food
  • Bikes
  • Helmets

Please ensure that all the items that you are donating are of a good quality standard, which can be of good use to charities.
