Part Time Jobs

There are a variety of part time jobs available to you as a students, but you may not always know where to look.

I know we're biased, but the first place you should try is your Guild of Students, as we're great to work for and have a really friendly staff team and flexible hours to suit you. We may not always have jobs available, but when we do, you'll find out about them on our website and on our social media channels.

Worklink can also help you to find available jobs in a range of settings, so it's always worth checking them out.

Once you've found a job that you like the look of, you may be asked to write a CV and a cover letter, or you may need to complete an application form and get ready for an interview. Don't panic if you haven't done either of these things before as the Careers Network have got everything you need to develop these skills.

Your Career

You're currently studying for a great degree here at the University of Birmingham, but what happens when your course is over?

You may have your dream career in mind and be working towards it, or you may not know what you want to do at the end of your course, or you may have changed your mind since you started studying. Whatever your circumstances, it never hurts to enhance your employability skills whilst you're here. It's easy to do and there are lots of resources available.

Work Experience

As a student here, you also get access to free LinkedIn learning courses.  The University of Birmingham has thousands of alumni who you could talk to, for advice and guidance, or who could become a mentor to help with your employability skills, and future aspirations.
