RACHEL FISCH

Hi, I’m Rachel Fisch and I’m running for Anti-Racism Anti-Fascism officer. I’m approachable, outgoing and honest. My desire to ensure campus remains a safe space for everyone, coupled with my past leadership experiences makes me the ideal candidate for the role. Given the recent rise in Islamophobia and anti-Semitic activity on campus, our student body needs a strong and committed ARAFO.

As ARAFO I will aim to achieve three main points:

Freedom. Everyone should be free to express their religion and culture and people shouldn’t be intimidated out of doing so on campus. We can broaden people’s perspectives and understanding on other’s beliefs through educational speakers and multicultural dialogue.

Fight. We must fight racism and fascism. We can achieve this through interaction at events such as the interfaith tent and between the different faith societies. By reaching out to the wider student community, we can actively engage the entire student body.

Future. By continuing the close and strong connection between the Guild of Students and the University, constant communication will ensure quick and lasting responses to racist and fascist activity that may (and hopefully won’t) occur in the future.
