Image of the Mermaid FountainHere at the Guild we’re constantly looking at how we can best operate and serve you, our members. During lockdown, we adapted our services to ensure that you could continue to enjoy activities, stay informed, and access advice and support digitally.

Now campus has reopened, a few things have changed… some of our services are only available online, some are face-to-face and others remain closed. Here’s everything you need to know…

The Guild Building

First up, face masks must be worn around the Guild and in all University buildings.

Around the Guild building you’ll see hand sanitizer stations that we encourage you to use regularly.

Throughout the Guild you’ll see social distancing and directional signage. This is in place to reduce the amount of people in close proximity and make movement around the building quicker and smoother.

Water fountains are out of use, as are shared computers.

 

What's Open?

Services Operating Face-To-Face

Reception: Our Reception Team will be available to support you:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6pm

Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 4pm

 

Joe’s Bar: Your favourite student Bar is open and is serving all of your food and drink favourites – at a social distance. Joe’s opening hours are:

Bar Open: 12-10pm

Food Served: Monday to Saturday, 12pm - 8pm.  Sunday, 12pm - 7pm

What have we done to make Joe’s Covid-secure? You’ll notice that certain tables are closed off to allow for social distancing, there's hand sanitizer located at both entrances, plastic screens at serving points AND we’ve introduced track and trace, as ALL students must check in.

How to check in: before you enter Joe’s Bar download NHS Covid-19 App and register. Then scan the QR code located the entrance.

 

Subway is open and ready to serve you.

 

Services Operating Online

The Student Groups counter is closed, however the Groups team will be operating virtually. So if you’re a student or committee member and need support email the Student Groups Team Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Guild Advice will be continuing to offer academic, welfare, financial, housing or international support via email. They operate Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm. Responses may take up to 5 working days, any time sensitive enquiries should be marked as urgent.

Student Mentors are still here to support students in halls, so if you need advice or just a friendly chat, email the Student Mentors. They’re open Monday to Friday between 4pm – 8pm during term time.

Community Wardens are available to contact via email or social media, if you need any support within the community.

The Hall Reps Team are contactable via email, Facebook or Instagram, Monday to Friday, from 9am-5pm.

The Student Voice Team are contactable via email from Monday to Friday, between 10am-4pm.

Please also note the closure of a number of franchises and outlets within the Guild building, which includes STA, Santander, and Spar (which remains open in University Centre). Subway remains open. 

We may be having to work a little differently at the moment, but we are still open and here to support, represent and entertain you – every step of the way.
