Your Postgraduate Community

The Postgraduate and Mature Students Association (PGMSA) is a student-led group that supports postgraduate and mature students to find their community.

The PGMSA put on a range of events and activities during Welcome Week and throughout the year - from evenings at Bratby Bar and trips to the Balti Triangle to a chilled board games night, there’s something for everyone. You can find all their upcoming events on the events page and Facebook is the best way to find them, so connect here.

PGMSA membership is free for all postgraduate and mature students (mature is classed as an student who starts a UG course over the age of 21 or a PG course over 25). You can join them online here.

TAUGHT OR RESEARCH?

For postgraduate taught students, there is also a community Facebook group just for you – find it here.

If you are a postgraduate researcher (PGR), the University Graduate School is open to you. Based at the PGR Hub, known as Westmere, the Graduate School encourages PGR-led peer development and engagement activities. All postgraduate researchers can use the space to organise their own events.

If you have any suggestions for events or workshops for postgraduate researchers, or want to find out more, please feel free to email graduateschool@contacts.bham.ac.uk and make sure you check their events calendar regularly.
