UNICEF on campus

Welcome, new and potential students! UNICEF on Campus is a fantastic way to get involved in charity work and fundraising at the university, and we hope to see as many of you join the society over the coming year. We'll have a stand all day at the Societies Fair on the Guild of Students' Underground Lawn on Thursday 22nd of September (save the date), and our introductory meeting will be on monday 26th, so please drop by and introduce yourself if it's something you have interest in - no previous experience is needed!

If you've got any questions in the mean time, or just want to get to know people, email us or visit our group on Facebook. We'll try to reply to any questions as quickly as possible.

This group is for anyone that wants to help raise awareness about children’s rights issues and to support the work of UNICEF, campaigning to ensure students know about the issues and to generate support for UNICEF.

Overall this year we have had the following events:

  • Bake sale, Comedy Event, Bucket shakes at Fab n' Fresh and La Soiree des Enfants event raising £1519 over the whole year for the following causes, Syria, Ebola, Gaza and South Sudan.
  • We've also had a UNICEF pub quiz evening at the Soak and fortnightly meeting discussing planning for fundraising events and one meeting on the Universal Childrens Day and about the Convention of Rights for Child.

Please note we have had our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 12th March from 6pm-7pm in the Mandela Room where the following roles were elected: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and Campaigns Manager.
