Join Residence Life for a relaxed tie-decorating evening at Jarratt Hall Social Space. Choose a tie and make it your own using a range of craft materials, including patches, fabric, buttons, stencils and other decorations. You can keep your design simple or make something completely over the top! All ties and decorating materials will be provided, and you can take your finished tie home with you afterwards.
We will have simple instructions available, so you can join in at any point during the event. You are welcome to stay and decorate with us, meet other students and make some new friends, or collect the materials and finish your tie at home if you would prefer.
There will also be a selection of classic British snacks to enjoy while you decorate: a chance to try some UK favourites (Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options will be available).
We will have a wide range of decorations available, including iron-on motifs and patches, patterned fabric, buttons, stencils, feathers and sewing materials. All ties provided are pre-loved/second-hand and no previous crafting experience is needed you can learn during the event!
This event is completely free for students living in UoB and Partner site accommodation, just bring along your Student ID! 🪪
Jarratt Hall social space has step-free access, but requires a keycard to get in, if you don't have one, don't worry! Our Residence Life assistants will happily let you in for the event. Follow the colourful flags to find the way!
