The Rocket Night Social which will be taking place at 7pm-9pm on Tuesday 29th September in the Poynting Bridge Study Room. Membership will not be required to attend, although we do encourage you to buy a membership from our Guild of Students page if you've enjoyed our events so far and want to participate more.
What to expect:
In the rocket night social, you are set a challenge to test your knowledge of rocket science. You will need to build a simple rocket using card, paper and sellotape that can both withstand the force of our pneumatic cannon and fly as accurately as possible. Your target: hit the target at the other end of the Poynting Bridge. There will be points awarded for accuracy, with prizes going to the most accurate rocket, as well as one for the runner-up. There will also be a prize awarded to the best looking rocket.
How to find the Poynting Building:
This event will take place in the Poynting Building. Instructions on how to find it from the guild of students are below:
Walking from the Guild of Students, head towards the clocktower, Old Joe.
The Poynting building is the first building to the right of the path, just before you pass under the double brick arches at the entrance to the Chancellor's Court.
The entrance to the Poynting building is marked by a set of arched wooden double doors. A committee member should be stationed outside to direct you further.
