Just started uni? Are you part of a student society or committee? Do you want gain new skills for life? Or want to learn how you can drive cultural change, step up to support someone and create a safer campus? We do too!

At the Guild, we are committed to promoting healthy and consensual relationships and to making our campus a safer place for every student. One way we do this is through our Consent Ambassadors, a trained team of students who help deliver important consent training and promote a positive consent culture on campus.

Read on to learn more about your Guild Consent Ambassadors, who we are, what we do, and where you can sign up to our workshops and events.

What Does the Guild Offer?

Whether you are part of a student group, society, or committee, the Guild’s Consent and Bystander Workshops educate you about consent and discuss the grey areas, boundaries, and the importance of standing up for yourself especially within university and adult life. The workshops also exemplify what you can do to help someone in need, and how to deescalate certain situations safely.

Our Consent Ambassadors are passionate about clear consent and healthy relationships and help deliver these workshops.

Why Are We Doing This?

Nearly 25% of students report experiencing sexual harassment whilst at university, and a shocking 1 in 7 reported sexual assault/ violence. These statistics alone demonstrate the cruciality of not only spreading awareness around consent but also teaching students skills to safely act as well as stand their ground.

Completing the workshops will also give you points towards the Birmingham Award, a certificate for your LinkedIn/ CV, and a chance to win a prize from our prize draw!

Want to Get Involved?

Workshops are for any students to attend – we run open workshops throughout the year and are also running more bespoke sessions for members of sports teams, societies or student groups. Check the We Love Consent webpage for all upcoming workshops and book your space now. As your Consent Ambassadors we can also help you to access further resources and information and provide a safe space to talk. If you have ideas for campaigns, or want to find out more, email support@guild.bham.ac.uk. See you at the next workshop!
