Pole Fitness

Pole fitness is a dynamic and challenging sport that allows you to improve your fitness, strength and flexibility in a safe and welcoming environment while having fun and making friends. Whether you’re a beginner or have previous experience, anyone can join the Pole Fitness society at any time! Membership is £15/year and gives you several perks (purchase via the Guild website). Any questions, please message a committee member!

TASTER SESSIONS
Taster sessions are held in Week 1 and Week 2 of the semester.

CLASSES
Instructed Pole Fitness classes - Qualified instructors will teach you pole fitness moves safely and at your own pace. (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)
Non-instructed practice sessions - Practice and perfect your moves and routines uninstructed. (Sunday)
Heels & floorwork - Bring your sass and learn dance routines incorporating flow and floorwork, heels not compulsory!
Stretch & flexibility - Improve your flexibility using various stretching techniques and equipment.
Core strength - Improve your core strength to help with pole moves.

MEMBERSHIP PERKS
Classes: Access to classes in Floorwork, Flexibility and Strength & Conditioning
Competition and performances: If you have a flair for performance, you can compete with us or perform in our termly showcases. Contact Lily for details and view our previous performances on our Youtube channel!
Socials: Get to know your pole family with weekly sports night socials and a sports tour! We also run sober socials, contact Amy or Zen for details.
Kit: Buy official UoB Pole Fitness kit for 2021-2022, contact Poppy for details.

RULES
Wear clothing that allows easy movement to classes. Arms & legs should be uncovered for grip. Do not moisturise/fake tan 24 hours before attending a pole class; this makes the poles slippy.
For floorwork classes cover your legs, knee pads are advised.
Do not be late to class as it is essential you warm up beforehand.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy – if you cancel your class with less than 24 hours' notice you will not be allowed to sign up the following week.
