Birmingham LINKS is a student group and a St John Ambulance Student Volunteering Unit based at the Guild of Students. As a society, we are committed to teaching basic first aid skills, raising awareness about the importance of lifesaving skills, fundraising for St John Ambulance, and, most importantly - having fun!
We run selection processes in October to choose individuals that we feel would be suitable to join St John Ambulance as a volunteer First Aider - this involves a thorough, assessed course of First Aid training that enables you to volunteer at events at such as V festival, Aston Villa matches, University football/rugby matches and even the London marathon! This is a great way to develop your confidence, leadership and interpersonal skills, and hours spent volunteering can be put towards the Personal skills Award at the University!
Our weekly meetings are usually on a Monday at 7:30pm - subscribe to our weekly newsletter below or check our Facebook/Twitter to stay informed about of upcoming events! If you have any questions, queries or qualms, feel free to email us for a response. So please join our society on the guild website - we look forward to seeing you at our next session!

To ensure that you get what you need from us, when you need it, we have created a set of promises which we will always aim to deliver.
Every year, you elect fellow students to your Officer Team, who represent you and lead your union. Each Officer has their own roles and remit which you can view below. You have a chance to make sure your elected Officers are doing what they said they will, by attending Officer Question Time held each term.
