Redbrick is the official student publication of the University of Birmingham. One publication, presented in the two mediums of print and online, made for students by students.

Redbrick was established in 1936 under the original title Guild News, and since then it has evolved to include twelve sections covering wide areas of student life.
At its core, Redbrick strives to represent its readers as best as it can, and to produce strong, intelligent and well considered journalism. With a team of dedicated volunteers, Redbrick works tirelessly to achieve this.
The 40 page paper is produced on a regular basis during term time, issued on Fridays. Edited by students every week, the paper has a circulation of 1,000 and is distributed across campus.
The website ( is updated continuously with regular content, videos, audio clips and photography. Events are covered through live blogging, providing a platform for readers to get directly involved with the debates. The website has had over 3 million hits since its redevelopment in 2011.
All content is produced by student journalists, including reporters, commentators, photographers and editors. As a student society, any student of the University of Birmingham can join and contribute to the publication.
After you have purchased your membership, please join the Redbrick Hub group on Facebook to see all the information about how to get involved.
