As you may remember, we’ve been looking at the way decision making and democracy works at the Guild. The first step was working with you to revamp the Guild’s Part Time Officer Team.
As a part of our ongoing process to improve how we listen to and represent students at the University of Birmingham, we're excited present to you an alternative way of doing democracy at the Guild.
The key things we 're hoping to achieve are:
- Creating a democratic process that allows students to more easily tell their representatives what they want.
- Being more transparent and giving students more opportunity to be involved in decision-making.
- Introducing decision-making processes that are quicker, but will flow naturally into one another.
At the moment, this new way of doing democracy is still in draft form and we want to hear your thoughts before it goes any further.

So please let us know what you think!
Here's a few things we'd really like to know... Does this look like a good way of doing democracy? Are people like you represented in these structures? Is there a way that we could make the process simpler?
Over to you!
