The University of Birmingham Guild of Students celebrates the results of the National Student Survey (NSS), noting the significant improvements to its score.
The Guild has achieved 82.5% satisfaction in the 2026 survey which is a significant increase of nearly 11% compared to 2025. The Guild’s Student Rep System supports over 1400 students to raise student voices and improve their courses. Student Reps have worked on a huge range of issues, and have helped to improve feedback, strengthen communication on their courses, and ensured minimum standards of teaching.
Since 2022, the Guild has seen a substantial, incremental improvement of almost 20% in student satisfaction. This reflects the continued hard work of staff and Officer Teams past and present, in ensuring students get the very best from their university experience.
The Guild supports almost 400 student-led societies, including academic societies, that help students meet new people, develop new skills and discover new hobbies. The results demonstrate the Guild’s positive impact in supporting and facilitating these student groups and enriching the student experience.
The Guild also works closely with the University to deliver support to students in a number of NSS areas, including Student Voice and Assessment & Feedback, which saw the highest increase in scores compared to 2025.
Jacob Dyke, Education Officer 2025-27 said ‘We are pleased to celebrate these considerable improvements and are committed to working with students and the University of Birmingham to build on these positive results. I want to give a big thank you to our amazing Student Reps and everyone who helped achieve this success.’
